The 17 of the earlier notes is the count of WorkCraft AI, which also connects to Craft Anything.

SolidCraft. It is made by tangency-labs. The catalog and the sources list name its real repository now.

A new version later is the same command.

They start. A panel now recognises an app that starts in its own way, and a stylesheet or font that was refused in development works.

Offline. The offline cache follows the files each app names, so split builds and apps with their own loaders are cached completely.

There is no stable 1.0.0 yet.

A workspace for every kind of work

Pick where to start. A first-run picker offers Office & Documents, Imaging & Photography, Video, Motion & Audio, Design, UI & Publishing, 3D, CAD & Materials and Exploration, or a workspace you build from any apps.

A launcher. The grid button shows the apps of the workspace, the files you opened last and, on an iPad, a button that keeps the apps offline.

Open with, for every app. The same file opens in every app that reads its type. The files stay in the project.

Web and iPad

Web builds as data. One command lists and installs the official web build of each app. An app without a build stays in its workspace and says so.

Shared storage. Engines made for OpenPlayground's browser storage open and save through the project, so the AI and the other apps see the same files.

iPad. Sound starts after the first tap, and a heavy app makes room before it starts. Real iPad hardware is not tested yet.

The fifth alpha of the 1.0 line makes the assistant lighter and clearer: fewer tokens in every request, a Team Mode that shows what each agent is doing and asks before it acts, and a microphone in the chat. There is no stable 1.0.0 yet.

The fifth alpha of the 1.0 line makes the assistant lighter and clearer: fewer tokens in every request, a Team Mode that shows what each agent is doing and asks before it acts, and a microphone in the chat. There is no stable 1.0.0 yet.

Fewer tokens

Tools for the question. The model gets the workspace tools and the tools of the apps the question is about. The tools of connected Craft apps stay out of the request until the question names the app, and the model can load more by keyword. With five apps connected this saves about 14k tokens in every request.

A history that shrinks. Behind each new question, old tool results, attached text and images shrink, with a note on how to get them back. Each answer shows how many tokens were saved, and the providers' caches keep working because the start of every request stays the same.

A cheaper team. The leader model reviews only the results the automatic checks doubt, and a short request about one app goes straight to that specialist without planning, review or summary.

Team Mode

Who is doing what. Every agent has a chip with its color, icon, model and status: planning, thinking, using a tool, waiting for you, finished or failed. A progress line shows how far the run is, and the shared memory is visible.

Clear approvals. A question to you shows the agent, the tool and its arguments on top, with Allow, Allow for this run and Deny. A tap on an agent writes its name into the message box.

Voice input

Speak instead of typing. A microphone next to Send fills the draft, never sends it. Handy runs the speech models on your own computer, so the audio stays there; the browser's speech recognition shows words live. Saying at gridcraft gives @gridcraft.

On the iPad. Paired with a desktop, the recording goes to the Handy of the desktop PC over the home network and the text comes back. The microphone needs HTTPS in Safari.

The fourth alpha of the 1.0 line polishes what you touch most on an iPad: the Apple Pencil, the layout and the side chat. There is no stable 1.0.0 yet.

Apple Pencil

Finger and keyboard. Once you have used the Apple Pencil, a finger tap on a text field no longer raises the on-screen keyboard, so the pencil writes with Scribble and the finger only pans, zooms and taps. A keyboard button in the chat input brings it up when you want it, and a setting turns the rule off.

Palm rejection. A resting hand next to the pencil is ignored, while the other hand can still pan and zoom when the pencil only hovers.

Pen and eraser. The eraser end and the barrel button of a pencil switch to an eraser, with a small chip that names the tool. The PdfCraft pencil view erases whole strokes with one undo, and a scribble over ink deletes it. Safari does not report the Apple Pencil double tap, so the toolbar and the E key switch the tool too.

Hover circle and smoother ink. On iPads with hover, a circle shows the width of the line or the reach of the eraser before you touch. Strokes are drawn as curves instead of straight pieces.

Layout

Hide the bars. The top bar and the tool rail can be hidden on their own, with a handle at the top edge to bring the top bar back. The project tree has its own button.

Lighter on iPad. In portrait the project tree and the chat open as drawers, one at a time. Tabs other than the active one show only their icon, and the large @ and / buttons left the top bar for small ones in the chat input.

Chat

Messages and tools. Each answer names its model, messages have copy, edit and answer again, code blocks show their language, and tool cards show their status with an icon that says what the tool does.

Blip. A small animated companion follows the assistant while it thinks, reads, writes and finishes, waves on the welcome screen and sleeps when nothing happens. It respects reduced motion and has a switch in Settings.

The third alpha of the 1.0 line makes the iPad a first-class device: a support layer between the workspace and the four apps that adapts by what each app does, not by its version number, so new app releases keep working. There is no stable 1.0.0 yet.

iPadOS

One layer, no version checks. A register lists every compatibility measure for the apps. An app can switch a measure off by saying it handles the job itself, and the workspace measures what an app actually draws, so a new release that changes its canvas shows up as a report instead of a blurry screen.

Apple Pencil calibration. A pen that always reports the same pressure, such as the Apple Pencil (USB-C), gets a pressure from the speed of the stroke. Hover and barrel roll appear only when the pen really sends them.

Lost graphics recover. When Safari loses the graphics of an app, WorkCraft waits for it to come back and then reloads the app, or offers to when there are unsaved changes.

Memory guard. Safari ends a tab without a message when it uses too much memory. WorkCraft adds up the memory of all apps and unloads the ones that are hidden and saved, the least recently shown first. A visible app and unsaved work are never touched.

Large files in OPFS. In browser mode, files of 128 KB and more go to the Origin Private File System through a worker. A save is crash safe: the old file stays until the new one is complete.

HTTPS on the home network. npm run lan:cert makes a certificate with mkcert and the server starts with --https. Over HTTPS the iPad gets WebGPU, the offline cache and persistent storage.

There is no stable 1.0.0 yet.

AI and MCP

More providers. Grok (xAI), GLM (Z.ai), Mistral, Groq, OpenRouter, Together AI and LM Studio are presets. GLM uses its thinking switch with the effort levels Low, High and Max, and its reasoning shows as a Thought process card.

Your own agents. Create an agent with a role, instructions, provider, model, effort, the tools it may use, a color and an icon. Address it with @name, put it on a team and save the team.

Ways of working together. Supervisor and workers, sequential, parallel, and human in the loop, where nothing starts before you approve the plan. A shared memory passes what finished agents reported to the agents that start later, and every agent card shows what it is doing.

Skills. The 13 skills of the Craft apps ship with WorkCraft. The assistant sees a one-line index and reads a skill with list-skills and read-skill only when it needs it.

Craft apps as tools. The Craft apps found on your computer connect as MCP servers, with their icons on tool cards. An app started with its control port is driven live in its own window. Reading runs freely and changes ask first.

Other IDEs. Settings shows ready snippets to use WorkCraft from Antigravity, Trae, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, OpenCode and ZCode, and installs the skills for other agents.

Tools. Five new tools: list-skills, read-skill, cloud-list, cloud-import and cloud-export (24 tools in all).

Cloud storage

Google Drive. Connect your own Google OAuth client and keep a project in Drive. Changes sync both ways, a file changed on both sides keeps both versions, and files removed in Drive go to its trash. The assistant can open and save Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.

iCloud Drive and other folders. iCloud Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or a network drive work as a synced folder: WorkCraft mirrors the project into it and your own sync client does the rest.

Private by default. Cloud storage is off until you set it up, Local-only mode blocks Google Drive, and every request to Google is in the audit log.

Release check and versions

Alpha versions. WorkCraft is in the alpha phase of the 1.0 line. Every meaningful change raises the alpha number, and the release check treats an alpha build as a pre-release.

No extra server. The release check now asks GitHub directly with the release logic of apicraft built in, so it needs no apicraft key. A GitHub token is optional and lifts the hourly limit.

Name and wording

One name. The product is called the WorkCraft workspace everywhere: in the interface, the documentation and the website.

Sources. SOURCES.md lists every GitHub repository the project builds on, ships, connects to or learned from.

Documentation

AI reference. docs/AI-SUPPORT-REFERENCE.md is the working reference for providers, thinking and caching rules, Ollama, teams, skills, Craft apps, the IDE bridge and cloud storage.

In the app. New pages for agents and ways of working together, the Craft apps, skills, cloud storage and connecting other IDEs.

It is the first alpha under the WorkCraft name; there is no stable 1.0.0 yet.

Workspace

Four apps in one window. WordCraft, GridCraft, DeckCraft and PdfCraft run as WebAssembly panels (WebGPU, with WebGL2 as a fallback). They stay in sync with the project files, so a change made by you, the assistant or another program shows up in the open panel.

Window manager. Split columns, rows and grids, maximize, minimize to the dock, picture in picture and focus mode. Apps keep their state through every layout change.

Full screen and separate windows. Every app and the code editor has a Full screen button (Alt Enter) that fills the whole window and leaves with Esc. Open in a separate window moves a panel into its own browser window, for example onto a second display.

Code editor and terminal. A code editor with AI completion and a real terminal (PowerShell or Command Prompt on Windows, a pseudo terminal with node-pty elsewhere) in the same project folder.

Projects. Create, switch, rename, export and import as ZIP, and delete with a confirmation. A new installation starts with an empty project of its own. Load sample data opens a separate sample project with documents, sheets, slides and a PDF.

New files are real files. The New menu lists every app with its mark and creates a valid empty package. A file that is 0 bytes from an older version is repaired when an app opens it.

Drag and drop. Whole folders dropped from your computer keep their structure, and files and folders move by dragging them onto a folder in the project tree.

Find your way around. Command palette, project search, memory, snapshots, trash, a project graph and an audit log. Copy path, Copy full path and Show in the file manager are in the project tree menu.

Workspace at the root. The workspace is the page at the root of the server, with ?mode=chat for Full Chat Mode. Your data lives in ~/Workspace.

AI and MCP

MCP tools. An MCP orchestrator with Zod-checked tools for sheets, documents, slides, PDFs, files, search, commands and panels (19 tools). An invalid call goes back to the model once for a self-correction, and arguments written as text are repaired when they can be.

MCP server for other clients. A Streamable HTTP MCP server at /mcp, so external MCP clients such as Claude Code can use the same tools.

Providers. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama and OpenAI-compatible endpoints, with native adapters, reasoning streams, prompt caching and token numbers per model. Provider logos are local files; nothing is loaded from a CDN.

Local models. Ollama chats use the native API with the real context size of the model sent on every request, a reasoning switch, keep alive and no silent cutting of long prompts. Automatic context keeps the largest size that fits in graphics memory. Existing choices are kept.

Team Mode. A Team Leader plans a task graph, specialist agents work in parallel with a write lock per file, and Mission Control shows progress, usage per role and the transcripts of the sub-agents.

Chat. Full Chat Mode, a floating chat, history, attachments, and export as Markdown or JSON. A new prompt bar with a + menu, a model chip and an approval chip. A waiting indicator from send to the first token, animated thinking cards and a Stop button.

Approval modes. Manual, the default, asks before shell commands and signatures. Auto approval is full access: those tools run without asking and a failed step goes straight back to the model. The chip turns red while it is on.

Your work stays safe. Before a message is sent, and before a tool reads or writes an open file, the app saves its unsaved changes, so the assistant works with what you see. A call that fails three times with the same arguments is not run a fourth time.

Release check. Settings, Updates can ask apicraft for newer releases of WorkCraft and the four apps. It is off until you switch it on and add your own key, and only repository names and version numbers are sent.

Interface and iPadOS

Light and dark. The workspace and the website have separate choices. The apps in the panels switch in place.

Language. English by default, German as an option.

Controls. One custom dropdown and flat checkboxes everywhere, all usable with the keyboard.

iPadOS. Touch, Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard and Stage Manager, home network pairing with a QR code, and a browser mode that keeps projects on the device.

Exports follow your theme. The HTML gallery and the PDF portfolio are white in light mode and black in dark mode.

Name and compatibility

A new name and logo. OpenCraft is now WorkCraft, with a new W ribbon logo in the favicon, the web app icons, the top bar and the documentation.

Old data keeps working. Folders, project history, browser settings and plugin manifests of earlier versions are picked up. The browser mode database keeps its old name on purpose.

Repositories. visoire/workcraft is the public workspace, MIT OR Apache-2.0. The website lives in a private repository.

Removed

Git inside the workspace. The Versions panel, the Git status bar item, the git tools and the Git author setting are gone. Snapshots, file versions and the trash stay, and .git folders are still left out of the project tree, exports and shares.

Collapse mode. Full screen replaces it. A layout that had a collapsed panel shows that panel normally again.

Documentation

Guides. ARCHITECTURE, MCP-TOOLS, AI-PROVIDERS and IPADOS-GUIDE in the docs folder, and a README with a quick start for Windows, macOS, Linux and iPadOS.

In the app. Pages for keyboard shortcuts, iPad and Apple Pencil, AI providers and Team Mode, the full list of chat commands, and how to use /mcp from Claude Code.
